Really cool video from the New York filmmaking team Everynone called “Symmetry”. Simple in concept, but awfully powerful. Definitely worth three minutes of your day.

Here’s “Short and Entertaining” from the french duo Jamaica. The band’s latest, No Problem was produced by Daft Punk’s sound engineer and Justice’s Xavier de Rosnay. The result? Catchy indierock grooves with heavily distorted bass. Similar to Phoenix, Breakbot, & Kids of 88. [8/10]

Here’s “Stamp” from The Rural Alberta Advantage's Departing. A nice new album from the Canadian indie folk trio. Great hooks & raw vocals, a real solid foot forward. Watch Stamp’s video too, it’s good. For fans of The Weakerthans, Plants and Animals, The National. [7/10] ***

More fun videos. This one’s for “She Wants”, Metronomy's first single in like three years. Lot's of really cool things going on here, including one of those newfangled QR codes at 2:52.  Scan it on your smartphone if you wish, just takes you to Metronomy's website though. Yay technology.

Sweet new video for “Moves” by The New Pornographers. Set as a fictional movie preview where the band has been cast by a slew of indie comedians including: Jon Wurster, Julie Klausner, Kevin Corrigan, Wyatt Cenac, Horatio Sanz, Ted Leo, John Hodgman, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, Todd Barry, and Donald Glover.

Good news! New Mother Mother album, Eureka snuck out and is excellent. Similar vibe to their previous album with plenty of great new tracks like this one: “Baby Don’t Dance.” The perfect follow-up album. For fans of Metric, The New Pornographers, & Young Galaxy. [8/10] ***

The Big Roar, a new album from the British trio The Joy Formidable just released overseas. Excellent new music. Female-vocalist led, primal epic grunge indie rock for fans of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Los Campesinos, & The Answering Machine. Here’s “Whirring” [8/10] ***

Swedish street artist builds a robot that paints graffiti.

Cut Copy's Zonoscope has surfaced. Pretty good yet sadly, doesn’t outshine In Ghost Colours. Their sound seems to have evolved to have less hooks, more ambience. Not a bad thing, different. Here’s “Need You Now”; for fans of Klaxons, Yeasayer, & Friendly Fires. [7/10] ***

Zooey Deschanel is almost too adorable. Here’s a new video for “Don’t Look Back” by She & Him. Poppy hooks, jangly guitars, and a glimpse of the future? What else could you ask for?

Josh Groban sings the tweets of Kanye West.

That pretty much sums it up.

Torquil Campbell, of Stars has a new side project: Dead Child Star. The debut record, Cold Hands, Warm Heart follows the same indie pop vibe Stars is so well known for; maybe bit more minimalist though. Here’s “No One is Born to Be Lonely”. Pretty good things going on. [5/10] ***
